RISE and SHinE Program for Children & Teens – FACILITATORS’ TRAINING
Born as a small offering to the glory of the One, the RISE and SHinE Program christened by Sri Sathya Sai Baba and guided by His precious teachings is the acronym for Rise In Self-Excellence and SHine in Excellence. It is a global program for personal transformation to bring out the best in everyone from age 4 till 40. One is never too young or too old to evolve and transform. Beyond 40 years of age, one may continue one’s personal evolution with like-minded folks under our global program named Be Good Do Good.
Facilitators of this RISE and SHinE Program for Children & Teens joyously aim to facilitate each child and teen to bring forth Self-excellence from within – (i) to always strive to be the better person in any situation and to be better today than you were yesterday; and (ii) to cultivate pure intentions as it is intentions that give rise to karma i.e. situations and circumstances are the effect of what you have sown in the past. So sow what you would like to experience.
The RISE and SHinE Program for Children & Teens is divided into four age groups as follows:
- Group 1: age 4 to 7+
- Group 2: age 8 to 10+
- Group 3: age 11 to 14+
- Group 4: age 15 to 17+
The program framework is based on the book ‘Journey of the River’. Every class will follow a structure made up of the following five pillars:
- Love All, Serve All – LOVE (Prema)
- Connect with Self – TRUTH (Sathya)
- Attitude of Gratitude – PEACE (Shanthi)
- W.A.T.C.H – RIGHT CONDUCT (Dharma)
- Help Ever, Hurt Never – NON-VIOLENCE (Ahimsa)
The book ‘Journey of the River’ is based on the teachings of Sri Sathya Sai Baba, and the five pillars also exemplify the five human values propounded by Sri Sathya Sai Baba (as set out above).
Most importantly, each of the facilitators is on a personal journey of self-awareness for self-excellence themselves – all being active participants of the RISE and SHinE Youth Program. To bring forth virtues that are already inherent in every child/teen, one does not teach but exemplify the lessons one wishes to impart. Walking the talk is imperative in this process of transformation for Self-excellence; both for the facilitators as well as for the children and teens who attend the RISE and SHinE Program for Children & Teens.
