Why 'Be Good Do Good'?
As folks who have passed the prime of youth, you would have learnt some valuable life lessons. As you move into the second phase of life, you are looking to ensure you meet life’s challenge with the right attitude and to realise the purpose of life.
The Master taught:
Follow the Master,
Face the devil,
Fight to the end,
Finish the game.
The Master also taught:
Life is a challenge, meet it;
Life is a dream, realise it;
Life is a game, play it;
Life is Love, enjoy it
This is the challenge: Be Good Do Good and See Good.
Your Master gives you as many lives as you need to pass this challenge. Your Master is with you throughout each life to guide you from within.
The Universe is always responding to your actions (i.e. your thoughts, words and deeds), so keep acting with pure intentions with your eye always on the goal of life. You will meet kind people and pleasant circumstances in your journey towards your goal. And if some unkind people and unpleasant circumstances cross your path along the way, remember that obstacles do not block the path, they ARE the path. Do not get ruffled by these passing clouds. Do not lose your courage nor yield to anger. Do not hate or judge such persons. Instead, focus on the One that is the Truth of the many i.e. the Divinity that is latent in every man. Apply discrimination, sense-control, and a mixture of love and forbearance.
Sadguru Sri Madhususan Sai said, “God who controls the affairs of the world is Himself subservient to Truth or Sathya, which is subordinate to the good people. So good people are worthy of veneration more than God Himself”.
The past is your lesson, the present is your gift and the future is your motivation. How well you learn your lessons will determine how well you utilise your gift to achieve the goal of life.
